Those were done with twisted, silver plated wire-wrap wire available (at least it used to be) at Radio Shack. Easy to twist a length in a hand drill and then cut to length with some extra to make the connections. Twisted wires like that are self shielding.

I believe we will have a few sets to sell at FDIM vendor night, but
then a restocking is needed. The first order went really fast! :-)

I read about the dream boards some time ago but missed out on ordering any before they were all gone. Now that I have some coming (2 sets) I am thinking of all those ways I hoped to use them. I was wondering how everyone planned to use them. It would be interesting to the group, I think, to hear about the experiments, receivers, transmitter, transceivers and what ever else you folks have in mind.
I plan to use one set to experiment with various circuits in a superhet and save the other set to actually build a transceiver.

How many of you are interested in using the subject IC?
I sell components and if I obtain some of these in qty, it will cost a substantial amount of money, so that's why I'm asking. I can sell them here for $3 if I buy 150 from Digi-Key. There are substitutes, but not sure of the pin compatibilities yet.

In stock yes, but DIP is available special order - hence the 150 qty.

Are there any app notes on how folks have used these boards previously??? Iguess I'll google it.
What are the rest of you folks gonna build with them???

Hi Russ,
I'd take 5 off your hands real quick.

Thanks Jim. I got most of the components from the schematic. There a still a few that I didn't see. Also I need to find out what this does. I'm still relatively new to kit building, but enjoy it as a learning process.

Bob,
The Designer Dream Boards were not invented as a "kit", but as a tool to prototype circuit ideas for receivers and transmitters, etc. As such, they contain circuit "ideas" that I have used in past projects and wanted to be able to use again without doing a Manhattan-style build or PCB for that part of the circuit. The page link that I sent you shows how some circuits can be "kluged" together to make a working receive converter, transmitter, etc.
The board don't build into a specific kit, but are tools to build and learn how various parts of circuits can be put together to build a more complex system.

Here is probably the best resource for the DD #1 board.
This link doesn't show up on the 4SQRP web site anymore. I guess the DD boards
are too long in the tooth at this point in time.
